![]() (The information on this type of conversion continues in the article, and makes interesting reading). Oddly enough, the 6V horn works great on 12V system really nice and loud. ![]() You need only add a 12V battery, 12V bulbs and 12V ignition coils. What should the voltage be? Anyways any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Simply install the new battery, then the alternator gladly starts charging at the new voltage. I have not replaced the condenser or points, could this really be the problem? I put my multi-meter on the black wire from alternator to ground and had a low ac voltage coming out but I can't remember what it was. There is not enough difference in Honda 90 stock cams to make a difference in performance that you will feel. There is a little bit of machine work to do to the top of the piston and a rebore. Also not sure if my timing is correct but that shouldn't affect wether or not I have spark should it? The timing should only have to do with when the engine is firing/stroke so it shouldn't affect my spark should it? I have a new plug and have tried a new 6 or 12V universal coil that I got from ATC Heaven and have had the same thing as before either no spark at all or once in a while a tiny bit of spark. If you get stuck for a big bore kit, you can use a piston out of a Honda CB125J. I at least have the gap set correctly on the points and I cleaned them but haven't replaced them. I have disconnected the switches and ran my wire straight from the points to my black wire coming out of alternator to my coil. I have had a problem with a weak, to little or no spark at all. id like to do a piston and ring swap on it, but am a little confused as to the ring and piston size. ![]() I believe the AC ignition Voltage from the CT engine with points, is about the same as the ATC engine generates for CDI. So while a 1980 CT110 had points ignition and 6 Volt charging, this ATC110 had CDI and 6 Volts. Im ready to put this trike back up into the barn loft. The 6 Volt limit was too cumbersome to get past with DC-powered CDI. ![]()
